Cancer and COVID-19
Cancer patients and their caregivers need to take precautions to lower the risk of contracting with COVID-19. Cancer patients are among those at high risk of serious illness from an infection because their immune systems are often weakened by cancer and its treatments. However, you can still medicate safely without leaving your home by getting your treatment delivered to you.
Getting your treatment delivered allows you to:
- Continue your treatment without risking your health and safety
- Follow social distancing efforts and stay-at-home orders
- Avoid walk-in pharmacies as recommended
Our COVID-19 Pharmacy Safety Protocol for our employees:
- High-touched surfaces are sanitized on a schedule
- Temperatures screened before and during shifts
- Consistent handwashing schedule
- All employees are required to wear gloves and mask at all time

FAQs
What is oral chemotherapy?
Oral chemotherapy is a cancer-fighting drug given by mouth in tablet, capsule, or liquid form. It is prescribed by your doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant. Today, many cancer patients receive oral chemotherapy as treatment.
What are the advantages of oral chemotherapy?
Oral chemotherapy offers several advantages over the parenteral route. Among the biggest advantages are patient convenience and flexibility in timing and location of administration. Another advantage involves flexibility of drug exposure by providing more prolonged therapy compared with intermittent IV exposure.
How does it work?
Oral chemotherapy kills or weakens cancer cells, and it usually comes in the form of a pill. As with other prescription medications, people can take oral chemotherapy drugs at home. While intravenous chemotherapy can be life-saving, it can also be inconvenient and potentially painful.
Where is the service offered?
AmeriPharma’s home infusion services are available in multiple states throughout the US. We are fully licensed and able to extend our services in the areas marked in blue in the map below
How long does prior authorization take?
Our prior authorization process takes an average of 72 hours or less.
How long will it take to receive my medication?
We are able to overnight ship medication from our headquarters in Orange, CA. In some urgent cases, we can deliver on the same day we place the order.
