Dr. Dania Jaradat, PharmD was born and raised in Torrance, California. She graduated from Marshall B. Ketchum University. The most rewarding part of her job is to keep the line between pharmacist and patient open and to educate patients on medication management. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to different countries, spending time with her husband and son, and reading.

IgA Deficiency

Immunoglobulin A is also known as IgA, which is an antibody found in our blood. Antibodies are substances created by the immune system that recognizes and fights off infectious agents. IgA is a type of antibody that helps fight infections in the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, mucus membrane, and blood.

Immune Globulin

Immune globulin (pronounced [i MYUN GLOB yoo lin]), is available under several other brand names, the most common ones being Cuvitru, Gammagard, GamaSTAN, Gammaked, Gamunex-C, Hizentra, Hyqvia, Octagram, and Privigen, among many others. Immune globulin is a blood product derivative. Treatment with immune globulin is typically referred to as immunoglobulin replacement therapy (IRT). 

X-Linked Agammaglobulinemia (XLA)

Agammaglobulinemia is more commonly known as X-Linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA), Bruton’s agammaglobulinemia, or congenital agammaglobulinemia. It is a disorder caused by the body’s inability to produce B cells or immunoglobulins (antibodies) that the B cells make. When B Cells or immunoglobulin levels are below the normal range, it can cause recurrent infections (like the flu, strep throat, etc.), allergies, asthma, and a weakened immune system. The most commonly recognized clinical feature of agammaglobulinemia is recurrent infection.

Oxaliplatin (Eloxatin)

Oxaliplatin (pronounced [oc AL i pla tin]) is also known by the brand name Eloxatin. It is an antineoplastic (anti-cancer) drug that belongs to a class called alkylating agent as a platinum analog. It is a type of chemotherapy that prevents cancer cells from multiplying and restricts their growth.

Docetaxel (Taxotere)

Docetaxel (pronounced [dos se TAKS el]) is also known by the brand name Taxotere. It is an antineoplastic (anti-cancer) drug that belongs to a class called antimicrotubular or taxane derivatives. It is a type of chemotherapy that prevents cancer cells from multiplying and restricts their growth.

Apalutamide (Erleada)

Apalutamide (pronounced [a pa LOO ta mide]) is also known by the brand name Erleada. It is an antineoplastic (anti-cancer) drug that belongs to a class called antiandrogen therapy. Erleada is a type of chemotherapy that prevents cancer cells from multiplying and restricts their growth.
