Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a non-contagious skin condition that causes red, flaky and scaly patches of skin due to an increased production of skin cells

Symptoms

  • Red or pink thickened skin
  • Scaly areas
  • Raised patches of skin

Treatments

There is no cure for psoriasis, so the goal of treatment is to help alleviate symptoms and improve the appearance of skin patches. Topical treatments (creams and ointments) are often prescribed first. In more severe cases, oral or injected medications may also be prescribed.

This condition is a common skin disease that can cause dry, itchy, painful patches of skin. Psoriasis is a chronic condition.
