Researchers believe that certain infections trigger your immune system to attack your nerves.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No cure currently exists for this condition. It is usually found in undercooked poultry.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GBS develops in about 1 in every 1,000 people with Campylobacter infection. Likewise, 5% to 40% of Americans with GBS had recent Campylobacter-associated diarrhea.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Viral_infections\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Viral infections<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Infections with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/cmv\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20355358\">cytomegalovirus<\/a>, Epstein-Barr virus, Zika virus, or influenza virus may trigger GBS in some people.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Vaccination\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vaccination<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In rare instances, GBS symptoms may appear several days or weeks after getting certain vaccines.
