Kovaltry is used to help control active bleeding episodes, prevent future bleeds, and manage surgery-associated bleeding in people with hemophilia A.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kovaltry is a recombinant coagulation factor VIII replacement therapy. The following are the dosages for treating bleeding ranging from minor to major:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Minor bleed:<\/strong> The target factor VIII level is 20\u201340 IU\/dl. Kovaltry may be administered every 12\u201324 hours for at least 1 day, or until the bleeding is resolved.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Moderate bleed:<\/strong> The target factor VIII level is 30\u201360 IU\/dl. Kovaltry may be administered every 12\u201324 hours for 3\u20134 days or longer, depending on the clinical response.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Major bleed:<\/strong> The target factor VIII level is 60\u2013100 IU\/dl.
