Dado que no existe una cura est\u00e1ndar para la SFN, estrategias de tratamiento<\/a> (por ejemplo, medicamentos neurop\u00e1ticos, <\/span>IgIV<\/span><\/a>) se utilizan para controlar los s\u00edntomas de esta afecci\u00f3n, dependiendo de su causa subyacente.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IgIV y las causas subyacentes de la SFN<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La neuropat\u00eda de fibras peque\u00f1as es una enfermedad que genera confusi\u00f3n y se asocia con diversas afecciones m\u00e9dicas. IgIV y SFN: Qu\u00e9 muestran los estudios<\/h2>\n\n\n

La inmunoglobulina intravenosa es una t\u00e9cnica terap\u00e9utica aprobada por la FDA para tratar diversos trastornos nerviosos relacionados con el sistema inmunitario. En la NFS, el dolor neurop\u00e1tico y la disfunci\u00f3n auton\u00f3mica pueden provocar s\u00edntomas incapacitantes que pueden empeorar con el tiempo si no se tratan a tiempo.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solo unos pocos estudios revelan la eficacia del tratamiento con IgIV para reducir el dolor neurop\u00e1tico asociado con la neuropat\u00eda de fibras peque\u00f1as. Por ejemplo, un estudio de caso realizado con tres pacientes con neuropat\u00eda de fibras peque\u00f1as asociada con la enfermedad cel\u00edaca (EC) <\/span>mostraron una mejor\u00eda en sus s\u00edntomas de SFN<\/span><\/a> (dolor neurop\u00e1tico) cuando se administra tratamiento con IgIV.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De manera similar, otro informe de caso mostr\u00f3 que una paciente con s\u00edndrome de Sj\u00f6gren (SS) y neuropat\u00eda de fibras peque\u00f1as respondi\u00f3 a <\/span>Tratamiento con IgIV cuando se administra IgIV de 3 ciclos (dosis alta de 20 g durante 5 d\u00edas consecutivos) durante 7 semanas<\/span><\/a>La paciente mostr\u00f3 una mejora extrema en su <\/span>parestesia<\/span><\/a> (sensaci\u00f3n de ardor y hormigueo) y dolor despu\u00e9s de la primera infusi\u00f3n de IgIV.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Otro peque\u00f1o ensayo no controlado de administraci\u00f3n de IgIV <\/span>mostr\u00f3 resultados notables en la mejora del dolor neurop\u00e1tico<\/span><\/a> de SFN cuando a cinco pacientes con s\u00edndrome de Sj\u00f6gren se les administr\u00f3 0,4 g\/kg\/d\u00eda durante 5 d\u00edas consecutivos. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De la misma manera, una <\/span>Serie de casos descriptivos de tres pacientes con sarcoidosis y SFN<\/span><\/a> Tambi\u00e9n muestra que el tratamiento con IgIV parece ser eficaz para aliviar el dolor.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estos peque\u00f1os informes de casos han mostrado resultados prometedores a favor del tratamiento con IgIV, cuando se conoce la causa subyacente. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por otra parte, una <\/span>Ensayo controlado aleatorio realizado en 60 pacientes holandeses con SFN idiop\u00e1tico doloroso. <\/span>No mostraron una mejor\u00eda significativa en sus s\u00edntomas de SFN (dolor) despu\u00e9s de recibir una infusi\u00f3n de IgIV.<\/span><\/a>En comparaci\u00f3n con un placebo, cuando se desconoce la causa de la SFN, la IgIV parece mostrar resultados menos prometedores. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hasta la fecha, solo se han realizado unos pocos estudios peque\u00f1os sobre los efectos de la IgIV en pacientes con neuropat\u00eda de fibras peque\u00f1as (NFF).
