Reactivated hepatitis B virus can lead to liver failure and death. Reactivation may happen during or after treatment with sofosbuvir.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, you will need to go through blood tests to check for hepatitis B virus before initiating therapy. Also, your healthcare provider will monitor you for reactivation during and after treatment with sofosbuvir.<\/p>\n<p>Consult your healthcare provider immediately if you have:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Excessive tiredness<\/li>\n<li>Yellowing of the skin or eyes<\/li>\n<li>Loss of appetite<\/li>\n<li>Nausea and vomiting<\/li>\n<li>Pale stools<\/li>\n<li>Upper right stomach pain<\/li>\n<li>Dark urine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bradycardia (slow heart rate)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In patients using a heart medicine called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/drugs\/2\/drug-4521\/amiodarone-oral\/details\">amiodarone<\/a>, sofosbuvir may cause a decrease in heart rate.
